Mariano Álvarez

Mariano Álvarez is a national and international dancer, teacher and choreographer. Born in Puerto Rico, Mariano pursued his Associate Degree in Dance at the New World School of the Arts in Miami. He also attended Milwaukee Ballet as Apprentice member, Alvin Ailey dance School and the Jose Limón Dance Institute Summer Programs.

His experience as a dancer include Las Vegas shows: Siegfried & Roy – Mirage Hotel, Divine Divas – Main Street Station, Legends In Concert – Imperial Palace, Enter the Night – Stardust Hotel, Pasión Mexicana – Showboat Casino, The Fab Four – MGM Casino, The Darren Romeo Show – Mirage Hotel and The Bellagio Grand Opening (choreographed by Kenny Ortega); The World Navigation and Illusion shows in Japan. He also danced for The Dance Express, Miami, Milwaukee Ballet and Ballet Randolph, Miami companies, as well as the musicals “Aida,”and “West Side Story.”

Mariano has danced for latin stars: Olga Breeskin, Yolandita monje, Luis Enrique Tour, Chantelle(Olga Tanon), Jose Luis Rodriguez, El Puma, Suzzy Leman, Lurdes Robles, Lunna, Ednita Nazario, Willie Chirino.

Mariano was a dancing member of the Ballet of Sabado Gigante on Univision in Miami for four Years. Mariano was Assistant Choreographer for Joey Chevere Productions, Miami for Aplausos music awards, Univision, Miami, Nuestra Belleza Pageant, Univision, Miami, Premios lo Nuestro, Univision Miami. Mariano was Assistant Choreographer for Pedro Pablo Pena in Miami for tours and television productions. Marianio was a Swing dancer for the TNN Television show Red Hot Country. Mariano’s film credits include being a dancer in the movies “The Specialist,” “Vegas Vacation” and “Showboy.” In 2005 Mariano choreographed the “Magic Gone Wild” Show at Oshea’s Hotel on the Strip in Las Vegas. Mariano has been the assistant of Papote Varet for 12 years. Mariano also choreographed for the show “Best Foot Forward” at The Wesward Ho Casino.

For two years, Mariano served as a ballet teacher at the Mid-Eastern Dance Exchange in Miami Beach. For four years, Mariano managed and taught Ballroom and Latin Dance at Dance Charisma and Delgado Dance studio in Las Vegas. Mariano taught Ballroom dancing at The Las Vegas Academy- School of Performance Arts and Del Sol High School. Mariano is a Smooth-and-Rhythm, DVIDA certified instructor. Mariano is currently an instructor of Quinceneras and weddings. Mariano is the Official Choreographer for Quinceneras Magazine in Las Vegas and the Quinceneras EXPO Las Vegas.
